Double Take!

Hi!

My Christmas cards are slowly adding up! Yay! Soon I will have enough to send to everyone! hehe

Here is a Christmas card I made over the weekend based on the challenge over at Hero Arts. The challenge was LEARNING. I have learned so much from the Hero Arts blog! If you haven't checked out their blog, please do! Lots of inspiration going on there! This first card was my submission for last week's challenge. A couple of months ago, there was a video tutorial on distressing using Tim Holtz ink and I had wanted to try it but never gotten around to it until now. I simply LOVE the result, so much that I made two of the same, just with a different stamp!

I first inked the snowflake stamp with VersaMark and then stamped it on a white blank card. Then, I heat embossed the snowflakes with kaleidoscope embossing powder. I like the glittery look. :) After that, I used distressing ink and went over the stamped images in circular motion. I was like, wow, how cool!! hehe...my first time trying this so I was pretty amazed at it. :)

For the center part, I paper quilted with different Christmas patterned paper, leaving one strip with the sentiment (PP as well). This idea came from Lin at Hero Arts. I added faux stitches to give so that the qhole quilt would pop a little bit more. For the little girls, I colored them with Copic and heat embossed the white parts of their outfits with Kaleidoscope powder and then added clear stickle as well.

My second card was done the same way except with a different stamp. I submitted it for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at The Greeting Farm, EMBOSSING.

Card Details:

Stamps: Hero Arts, Miss Anya, computer generated sentiment

Papers: I used a few different companies, including K&Company, The Paper Company, Recollection, DCWV

Ink: TIm Holtz, Copic, Memento, Uniball white pen, VersaMark

Embellishment: Gems, snowflake buttons, stickers

Tools/Others: Heating gun, embossing powder, stickle

I have really been combining a lot challenges in a while. Life gets hectic sometimes so I don't have too much time to blog hop. So if I haven't visited you in a while, I do apologize. I will try my best though. :) Anyway, here are the challenges I am submitting my cards for:

1. Cute Daisy May: Texture

2. Allsort: Snowflakes in September

3. Roses on Paper: Stitches (Miss Anya card)

4. Cupcake Challenge: Distressing technique

5. Simon Says Stamps: Stitch It Up!

Hope everyone likes my cards and thank you so much for stopping by!
