Sparkle Creations Challenge #105: Color Combo

Hello!

It is time for Sparkle Creations challenge!  We have a color challenge for you to play with!

I used New Year Emily on this card.  She's called New Year Emily but she's suitable for all occasion cards or projects!  As you can see, I used Emily for a Birthday card! One of the things I love about Sparkle Creations stamps is that all the images are so easy to color!  Plus, they are so versatile!

I colored Emily with Copic markers.  I added stickles to her headband.  For the flower, I used three Recollection orange flowers and stacked them up.  I secured them with a silver brad.  I like fuller flowers so you rarely see my cards with just one single flower.    I distressed the flower with Cat's Eye chalk ink and then added star dust stickle to the edges.

The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.

I pierced the edge of the pattern paper with a tracing wheel.  I love to use it for my cards!  It's one of my favorite tool!

We would love for you to play along with us!  For more inspiration, please visit our blog!

Updates...

Mom's surgery went well.  She is currently recovering in the surgical ICU.  She is in a lot of pain but she is otherwise doing fine.  Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers!

I have no party planned for the little guy's first birthday.  I bought everything for it and was suppose to have it this last Sunday.  I cancelled it because I don't feel right having a party (not exactly a party since it would only be my family) while mom is in the hospital.  Plus, the little guy got sick on Friday.  He is doing fine now but he did pass the fever onto his brother!  So yeah, I still got a sick baby in the house!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a fabulous week!

Testing the Blogger App

Happy Friday everyone!

I don't normally talk much about anything personal on my blog but today I'll share a little. I am having one of those moments today...feeling nervous, edgy, worry, emotional...you name it.

My mom is having surgery today. We were told that it would take about three hours. But this morning we were confirmed that it's actually going to be six hours! I won't get into details but please please keep my mom in your prayers.

The last few months, I have been having problems with my phone. I keep getting the no SIM card installed or invalid SIM message. Do any one of you have this problem? I searched the web and found that some iPhone users have this problem too. How do I fix this problem, besides turning it on and off and cleaning the SIM tray? I am getting really annoyed with it!

I am posting from my phone today. I am testing the Blogger App. Do you guys use it? Do you like it?

I haven't paper crafted much lately. But I have been crocheting as mentioned in my previous posts. I crochet whenever and wherever I can...during breakfast, lunch, in the car, etc. I love it because its portable!

I just finished this project today. It's a pot holder. It's a large pot holder, more like a pot mat. Lol

It has two layers so its pretty thick. I am going to crochet a couple more of these but with two colors. Meaning, the star one color and the backing another. I will share once I get them done. Hopefully soon! :)

My little one is turning one in a week! This is him last week.  He was playing with the spoon. Lol.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for reading!

It looks like my camera is retiring a little earlier than expected!  :( It kept saying "press shutter release button again".  Hubby tried to fix it but after a couple of snaps, it stopped again.  Lately, I have been taking pics with my cell phone.  The pics are okay but I still prefer a regular camera.  lol  Maybe it's time for a new one.  Any suggestions?

Hello!

Great news!  We are previewing new stamps at Sparkle Creations!  Today we are previewing this sweet Gardening Charlotte!

Sparkle Creations Challenge #104: Pink Lemonade

ETA:  I really messed up!   lol  The challenge is lemonade, NOT pink lemonade!  LOL

Hello!

It is time for another Sparkle Creations challenge!  The new challenge is...PINK LEMONADE!

When I saw the challenge, all I saw was lemonade.  I totally didn't see pink!  lol  (Don't ask me how I missed that!) So, what did I do?  I colored an image with yellow and green!  As usual, before I start working on my challenge cards, I double checked the challenge.  This time, I saw pink!  lol  So, at the last minute, and I mean last minute, I  colored up another image in pink!

Here is my card using Cupcake Ruby...all in PINK! :)

I bought a couple of rolls of washi tape a while back and never used them.  I thought it's fun to add a couple of stripes on this card.  I added one of my handmade ribbon flowers as well.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Lately, I notice a lot of ad pop ups when I visit blogs and pretty much all sites I visit.  Does anyone have this problem?  They are so annoying!  Is there a way to get rid of them??

Guess Designing for The Paper Dolls

Hello!

It is my pleasure to be guess designing for The Paper Dolls today!  Christine's stamps/images are super adorable and fun to color!

I've made lots of cards with The Paper Dolls images already so for my post today (will share those at a later date), I decided to make this pendent using a round glass dome and pendent tray.  I used Ringmaster Ellie.  This pendent necklace is super easy to make.  I colored Ellie and adhered her to the glass dome. I then glued the glass dome to the tray.

The pendent is about an inch in diameter.  The ball chain is 24 inches.

I hope everyone enjoyed looking at my project as much as I enjoyed making it!

Sparkle Creations Challenge #103: Sketch

Hi!

Time just flies by!  Didn't we just have a challenge at Sparkle Creations? lol  Has it been two weeks already??  Well, I guess so!  lol  Which means, it's time for another cool challenge!  We are onto challenge 103!  Wow!  We have a fun, simple sketch for you to follow!

I used Sunflower Charlotte on this card. I love purple and green together!  This combo always remind me of the second day of the 1994 earthquake.  Why?  Because after the earthquake, the next morning, I did nothing but my normal routine...got up, ironed my clothes and went to work!  lol  I wore purple and green that day.

For more inspiration and details about our challenges, please visit our blog!

Thanks for stopping by!

Yumi and Fumi Challenge: Multiple Folds

Hello!  Hope everyone is enjoying this nice, fine weekend!  It's nice and warm these last couple of days.  A big change compared to last week...so windy!

We are onto week 2 of our current challenge at Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts.  The challenge is MULTIPLE FOLDS!

How many folds do yo usually go for when creating a card?  I am so used to creating top fold (single fold) cards!  It's pretty much automatic as soon as I start creating a card.  lol

Well, for a change I actually made this card with LOTS of folds!

I used the newly released Yumi With Birdie.  I love coloring her!  She is so adorable and because she is not too big, she took me no time to color!  LOVE!!!

I just realized the other day that Mother's Day is coming up!  So, instead of my usual Birthday cards, I went for a Mother's Day card this time.  I actually need to make a couple more.  Hopefully real soon!!??

I am not sure what you would call this kind of cards so if you know, please do let me know!

This card opens from top and then side.

This is what it looks like once you flip open from the top.  A message is revealed.

Leaving the top flap up/open, open the side flap (left side) and this is what you see.   Can you tell what it is?

Yes!  A gift card holder!  I made a little gift card holder and attached it to the card!

I lost count of how many folds here.  lol  Oh, I almost forgot.  Did you notice my pictures are a little different?  I took these pictures with my cell phone..late at night.  I am not sure what's wrong with my camera but when I tried to snap, nothing happened!  I need to have hubby check it.  I don't know anything about cameras!  lol

Hope you have fun looking at my card . I hope I inspired you to create one and maybe enter our current challenge!  Please visit our blog for challenge details HERE and link your card on this post HERE.

Have a good one, everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sparkle Creations Challenge #102: Washi Tape

Hello there!

It's time for Sparkle Creations challenge!  For the next two weeks, our challenge is to use washi tapes!

I never used washi tape on my creations previously.  I always think washi tape is just not my "thing".  lol  I used some on this card and I still don't think it's my thing.  I am not sure why.  Maybe it's not my style?

I used Cocktail Emily on this card.  I colored Emily with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.

For more inspiration and challenge details, please visit Sparkle Creations blog!

After all the back and forth, running here and there, I was finally able to register my son for kindergarten.  He will start in August.  Which means, the kiddie will graduate from preschool this Summer.  He has been in preschool for two years...2 1/2 to be exact!  lol  I am slowly getting him ready for the big school.  Hopefully, he will get used to it in no time!
