10-minute card

I decided to do a 10 minutes card for the challenge over at I Dream of Stamping. I usually take my time when I make my cards so I wanted to challenge myself with this one. I have made quickies in the past but that was because I was RUSHING t0 get them done!

Well, for quick cards, the easiest way to make one is to use images that do not require a lot of coloring. For my card, I simply used this birthday sentiment from Inkadinkado. I followed the sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketch. This was one easy, quick to put together card!

It's raining here so I am staying in with my kiddies. Plus, my daughter is not feeling well...have a slight fever since yesterday. She might be teething. Poor baby!

Embossing Tips

Hi! Time for a Bee Crafty challenge! For the next two weeks, we would love to see some EMBOSSING on your creation! East peasy, huh? Well, hop over to Bee Crafty and join in the fun! But wait.....read my rambling first! LOL

Has anyone tried heat embossing a digital image? Well, I am sure some of you have and there are so many ways to do it too! Wanna know how I do it, the inexpensive way? :D

Option #1:

1. Print your image using an Inkjet printer. Ink stays wet longer with Inkjet printer as ink is sprayed onto the paper. You can use any kind of papers but better if the paper is smoother and more glossy. In other words, papers that don't not absorb ink as fast.

2. Sprinkle embossing powder onto the image. Dust off any powder you don't need or want to be embossed.

3. Melt powder with heating tool. You know, a heating tool looks like a hair dryer to me. You might want to try that instead if you don't have a heating gun. I personally never tried it so if you do try it, let me know if it works!

Remember, once you printed the image, you HAVE TO sprinkle the powder immediately. Otherwise, the image will be dry and the powder won't stick! What to do when this happens? Well, try option #2! :D

Option #2:

1. Print image using your fav printer.

2. Go over the image with Zip Emboss Writer (see pic)....like tracing the image. Work in small sections only because it dries up very fast.

3. Sprinkle embossing powder.

4. Melt with heating tool.

Easy, huh?

I don't usually heat emboss my entire image so you won't see it on my card. I did however embossed her birthday hat. I also embossed the sentiment.

I haven't played along the Diedrich Dare in a while so I decided to follow Madelynn's sketch this week. It's an easy one so there really is no reason why I can't play along! LOL I am also entering this card for I Dream of Stamping (2nd challenge: heating embossing). Problems With Google Reader?

Does anyone have problems with Reader lately? For some reasons I don't get all the updates....for a while now. I have to click on each one manually for updates! Hmm...

Like my images? :D These are stamps I got from Michael's for $1 each. I think they are cute and so perfect for the sketch over at Card Patterns. I wanted to add a sentiment to this card but don't have a right one and my printer is acting up so I can't even make my own! I guess I'll have to add it some other time. What a bummer! I hope I don't forget!

I am not sure if you can tell, but I did a little paper weaving on this card. I used my leftover Valentine's Day paper, cut it into strips and weaved them onto the blank card. Well, I of course cut two slits on the card first. :D I might as well enter this card for Die Cut R Us again since I used leftover Vday paper....same paper too! :D

Well, just a quick post today. Actually, I am quite surprised at myself for posting almost everyday this week! Well, I stayed up late and I really shouldn't because I was late to work twice this week already! I've got to get myself together!!! Anyway, later for now!

She probably doesn't know that I know her birthday so this is a surprise post just for her! I can't remember exactly how I cam across mama's blog but ever since I did, I have been loving and admiring all her BEAUTIFUL creations! This girl is seriously AMAZING! If you don't know her, please stop by her blog and check it out yourself! You won't be disappointed!

Okay, mama, you are probably wondering how I knew. :D I'll admit, I am a nosy person....in a very good way. hehe I followed the link you have on one of your posts. You said that was the only time you mentioned it and so I was curious. :D

I am still working on my scraps so yup, another card made with scraps! This one I made from my leftover Valentine's Day papers. Can you tell? LOL I followed the sketch over at The Pink Elephant and used my cute Fairy Lala stamp. This is like one of my all time favorites! I colored her with Copic and added glitter to her wings. I also used my spica pens for her hair, dress, eye shadow and the star. You probably can't see it but if you click on the pic, you will see it clearly.

Everything Is Better With A Friend

Definitely! Friends play a very important role in our lives! When I meet someone and we "click", I hold onto to the friendship and treasure it! Good friends are hard to come by, don't you think?

This card is for my OCS partner for this month, Kyoko. Hope you like it, Kyoko! Stop by Kyoko's blog and say hi! Check out all of her AWESOME creations as well!

Ever since I found out about Teri's OCS, I have been joining in the fun and "meeting" new friends. I think this is such a wonderful idea to meet friends, to learn from each other and most of all, have fun! If you are interested, sign up with Teri. I actually made this card a couple of days ago when I saw the sketch preview at Midnight Madness(MMSC42). Previewing is an awesome idea! Whoever came up with the idea is super duper clever! If not, I wouldn't have made this card yet! LOL Let me tell you, when I saw this sketch, I just had to follow it! I LOVE it and it took me seriously no time to finish my card! It's so easy to follow and I love the outcome of it!

For this card, I used Flower LiLi. She's such a cutie! Oh, just a reminder, our challenge is still going on at Inky Impressions! you still have another week to play along our THINK SPIRNG challenge!

Oh, I was having some really bad Internet problems earlier. My babies went to bed early tonight so I thought I would have an hour or so extra to play but nope! I couldn't get online! I had to wait for hubby to come out from the shower to fix it! Even then, it took him sometime! So here I am, sitting here, talking to you guys, late at night again. So you know what that means, right? hehe Yup, after I post, I am going to la la land!

But before I go, I am going to link my card for the Cupcake Craft challenge as well since their theme is all about FRIENDS.

Yup, another Christmas card! I used Ornament Lala on my card. Oh and let me tell you, I am loving my La La Land Crafts images more and more each day! They are just so cute, so fun to color and not to mention, for those of you who loves to cut out the image, so EASY to cut! I usually get my La La cards done in no time! Just Magnolia

Hey, friends!

I have a Tilda card to share!!! Yay! I fell in love with Magnolia stamps when I first started stamping, got some stamped images from a couple of blogging friends, bought a few myself but over time, I neglected them! :( Does this sound familiar to some of you? hehe

I decided to play along the challenge over at Just Magnolia. This week is a sketch. I meant to used my ladybug DP but misplaced it. :( I have a really bad habit of misplacing my stuff.

Okie dokie, my friends, I am going to try to visit you guys for a little and them off to bed. I have been covering another desk at another office these two weeks so I am beat from going back and forth...plus the extra work of course. But it's totally cool since the other office is half way home! Love it...just a little tired! :D

Where does the time go?

Hi! Hope everyone is starting the week nicely!

Can you believe it? We are almost at the end of February! Time just flies by!

Can you tell I am determined to get my Christmas cards done by Christmas? LOL I am trying to make one whenever I can. This is one of the Sugar Nellie images which I have for a while.

I followed the sketch over at Crazy 4 Challenges for this card. I think I am going to stick with traditional red and green for most of my Christmas cards. Also, I am going to try to keep them as simple as I can since I will be mailing them out. You know, to save on postage. :D

I was able to make a few cards this last weekend. So more of my creations to come soon! :D

Awesome New Digi Designer

I was hopping and came across Melissa's blog....very lovely blog. Okay, I am going to be honest, guess what caught my attention before I started to browse her blog? hehe FREEBIE! Yup, I stopped and had to check them out! Melissa is an artist and she has some super adorable images up for sale at her store! She has a couple of freebies right now so grab them while you can!

Once you tried Melissa's image, you'll love them! Her images are so fun to color! They are especially nice if you love shading!

Well, I am still very determined to use up some of my scraps so yup, this is another one of my "scrappy" card. I followed the sketch over at Create 4 Fun. I am entering this card for Stamp Something for their Spring Something challenge. This is pretty springy, don't you think?

Handmade Flower

Happy Sunday! It's super duper early right now...I really should be in bed... But if I don't post right now, I probably will not have time later today. I have tons of stuff to do..house chores mostly and I need to visit my family. We are still celebrating Chinese New Year. I am taking my babies to their aunties' and grandma's.

I have been seeing a lot of handmade flowers with nesties so I thought I would give it a try too. So what do you think? I used my Dahlia nesties for it. I crumbled it, inked the edges and added stickle to it. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers. I used one of the Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie again. They are just so fun to color! She literally took me no time to color!

Sweet November Stamps

Happy Saturday, Everyone!

Well, since I don't have as much time to create nowadays, I try to color some images whenever I can. I think I have quite a few images colored up already. The only thing is, it's a little harder to chose the right papers to go with them. But at least the image are ready to go! LOL

I am still trying to use up my scraps so yes, this card was made from scraps.

What a Night!

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good week so far and is ready for the weekend! I know I am!

I in tented to post this card last night but guess what happened instead? My cousin came to visit with her mom last night, parked her car outside my house, walked in the driveway and BOOM! A lady hit her car head on, pushing her car forward and hit the fire hydrant. The fire hydrant slammed against my fence along with her car! Water was everywhere! What was freaking scary was if my cousin stayed by the gate 10 seconds longer, she would have been gone! Usually when she comes, she doesn't close the gate (press number to open and close) but last night she did! She was waiting for the gate to close. Oh my god, it was so close! And if my hubby didn't come home a couple of minutes late, it would have been him because usually around that time, he would be waiting in his car for the gate to open! Thank goodness my cousin wasn't in the car! Oh, the lady was fine. She was by herself and the officer said she was drinking of using the cell phone and such. She said "I think I was thinking too much". What the heck!

Well, EVERYBODY came! The whole street was blocked! My front yard is flooded! My fence fell! My gate won't open now! My cousin's car, mostly like totally lost since it's like a sandwich now! What a night! It lasted about a good two and half hours because I didn't get to have dinner until after 9:30pm.

Anyway...oh, my card...I made this card for the pink and purple challenge over at Club Anya and Friends but didn't make the deadline. I totally forgot to post it too!

Is It Spring Yet?

Nope! But it sure feels and looks like Spring these last couple of days here in LA! This is my second post for today, thank you so much for scrolling down!

Yup, these last two days was in the 70s or even 80s….and we wonder why we get sick so often! It’s super cold one day and then super hot the next! Well, it is the weather. LOL

Our current challenge at Inky Impressions is to THINK SPRING. I hope you can think of Spring when looking at my card. LOL I am so used to bright, vibrant, cheery colors that I sometimes forget the lighter, softer ones. Still, I didn’t do such a good job with the colors on this card. Oh well…

For this card, I used Fairy LiLi. I just adore this image so much! She is such a cutie and super fun to color!

Our challenge over at La La Land Crafts this week is a color one: RED (mostly red at least), hosted by our DT Coordinator, Jane. Why RED? Well, in honor Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year this week.

Oh, I did end up cooking a little on Chinese New Year’s Eve. It was cool but wished I got some help with the cleaning. :( Anyway, New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day was nothing special, we just went out for dim sum in the morning. Yeah, I cooked the last few days. I do enjoy cooking when I am on a roll… hehe

Sugar Nellie Christmas Card

Hey, Peeps!

Okay, so I tend to be MIA for a couple of days and back again. Well, the reason? Life is just hectic with two little ones! I am afraid I don't have as much time to craft as I used to but I am trying to craft whenever I can. Thank you all for staying with me and for all your understandings! You guys are awesome!

Well, it has been a while since I played the Sugar Bowl. This card is for the current challenge with a sketch and "please include" two brads, three flowers and a button. I made this card with all scraps. I tell, I have TONS of scraps! Oh, I mentioned that previously already. hehe Well, they are really getting on my last nerve so I was a little determined to at least use some of them.

Anyway, it's getting super late so I gotta run 'cause I need to get up in about five hours for work. I know, I have to run every time. I am sorry about that. I can usually craft and blog at night only.....ans a little on weekends sometimes :D.

Sew Cute!

I know some of you don't celebrate Chinese New Year but today is the eve. Traditionally, we eat a big meal on New Year's Eve, food that we don't usually eat everyday. Well, usually I would cook for the family but because my in laws are coming over which makes about 12 of us, I don't think so! LOL So what to do? Well, order out, in I mean! hehe Yup, lots of people will be busy cooking up a storm tonight (like my mom) but I will be taking care of my babies. Hmm...maybe I'll take them to McDonald...

Anyway, we have a new challenge for you at Bee Crafty! Our theme for the next two weeks is SEW CUTE! There are quite a few options to some stitches. You can bring your machine out and sew, you can do hand stitches, you can do faux stitches or you can do what I did, simply use a ribbon with stitching one it! How clever of me! hahaha Seriously, it is an option, right? I call it the LAZY option. hehe

A Sweet Sketch

Hey, my awesome crafty friends!

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means! Yup, time for our La La Weekly Wednesday challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and she is challenging everyone to create a card or project with no designer papers! This may be a challenge for some of you but once you start working on your project, it really is not. You can always use embossing folders like I did! :D

Well, for my card, it’s pretty simple. I simply used two different embossing folders. I like cards with textures. I followed the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge and used Lala with heart. I just love Lala, she is so cute with that big heart!

Hi!
I haven't made a card without coloring in a while. I made this one using the sentiment stamp from Little Paper Shop. Love it! Usually non-coloring image cards are so much quicker for me to put together but not this one. I was having a hard time trying to put everything in the right place! It just doesn't seem right to me for some reasons. I finally gave up and left it as it is.

Hey! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

It has been raining since yesterday here and it's so cold after the rain! I am not complaining because I really don't mind the rain. I actually love it sometimes. I think it's romantic to be out in the rain with umbrella, of course....especially with your other half. Yeah, I know, I am crazy. People tell me a millions of times already....

Oh, the FB thing....if you sent me a friend request, I apologize if I still haven't confirmed it yet. You see, I am not on it often and when I do, it's usually just for a couple of minutes...only for DT purpose. I hardly check out the rest of my page.
