To succeed...

Happy Halloween, Everyone! After a couple of days rest, I am feeling much better. My babies are still not 100% better though. My son still has the runs and my daughter still throws up every now and then. But overall, they are doing much better as well.

Today is Halloween but I don't have a Halloween project to share, just a card and a project I made a couple of weeks ago using an In Style Stamps image. I usually carry a calendar/planner in my purse so I altered one. :) It was an easy breezy altered item. :)

Well, I got to run because I need to get my babies ready for treat or trick in a hour. I still need to carve the pumpkin and get my babies to sit still to take some pictures.

Hope everyone have a safe, wonderful Halloween!

Getting Punchy!

Hello!

I have not been feeling too well the last day so of course, I didn't get to visit every one and didn't make anything. I do have something to share with every one though. I made this card for the Punch Dunk challenge over at The Greeting Farm earlier this week. I followed the sketch over at The Sweet Stop.

This card is kind of bright, I know. :) I love bright, cheery colors! :) I guess you can say that's my style.

Okie, dokie, I need to work on a couple of DT cards and then off to visit everyone. Hope everyone is having a great day!

A Special Thank You

Oh my gosh, it has been so windy here the last couple of days! I went to the post office during lunch yesterday and thought I was going to get blown away while waiting for the light! It was crazy! Stuff were just flying everywhere and there were tiny twisters! I swear!

My hubby didn't close the windows all the way and so when I got home from work, my little crafty space was covered with dust! Man, I had to clean it and organize most of my stuff and of course didn't get to craft. To top that off, my son got the stomach virus and has been vomiting and having diarrhea since yesterday early morning. Then when I got home today, my hubby said my daughter got it too! She was throwing up all day! Luckily, she doesn't have the runs. Hubby tried to take them to the doctor on both days but missed the doctor So he will try again tomorrow.

Oh, did I mention my MIL got the virus too? Well, she did and I think my FIL is starting something too. What is going on?? I tell you, really crazy weather here and it's making everyone really sick. Everyone, you have got to be careful and take good care of yourself! Anyway....

I made this card for Marie over at TGF for sending me some stamps when I won the Design my Sprout contest. I know, it has been a while since I received my stamps and I am barely sending it to her. Shame on me! Since this is a Thank You card, it fits the challenge over at Stampin Sister in Christ and Crafty Creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Ornament Lala

Hello, Friends! It's Wednesday and time for another awesome challenge over at La La Land Crafts! This week's RIBBON theme is set by Lisa! Hmm....we all use ribbons one way or the other on our creations. Let's see how creative you can get with them!

I made this card really late at night and I was really tired, so my card is not that creative. It's a rather plain and simple card to me as I am used to lots of layers. I used Christmas Ornament Lala and followed the sketch over at Card Patterns. I must say, they always have awesome sketches! You have got to check their out if you haven't yet!

For lots more inspiration, please hop over to La La Land Crafts and check out the rest of the DT's beautiful creations! Don't forget, you have until Sunday to get your entries in and have a chance at winning Santa Lala!

Stamp: Christmas Ornament Lala
Paper: Basic Grey, Bazill

Fairy Lili Again?

Yes! hehe Fairy Lili is so sweet so I decided to color her in and play along Inky Impressions' awesome sketch challenge this week. What do you think?

I colored Lili with Copic of course, and added crafty sparkles to her wings. The flowers were punched out and sprayed with shimmerz spritz with a gem in the center. This is an easy quick card.

As I have mentioned previously, I had a busy weekend. I will try to visit everyone the next couple of days. I do appreciate everyone's visit and encouraging comments. Thanks a bunch!

Are you the Winner?

I apologize for announcing my birthday candy winner late. I haven't really been home this past weekend. I was just out and about with my family. Before I announce the winner, here is a picture of the candy.

Also, I want to thank each and every one of you for the birthday wishes and entering my little candy. I wish I have something for everyone but alas, I can't afford it. I used the random generator to select the winner, gotta love that thing! The winner is

CRYSTAL

Congratulations, Crystal! Can you please email me at kimlayu@gmail.com with your info and I will send the goodies off to you!

Whimsy Skunk

Ahhh...Monday, another wonderful week ahead! I am so glad I have another day off! It's going to so chaotic at work again. I have lots of backlogs since I put everything aside to meet last Friday's court filing deadline. I am so not looking forward to that.

On another note, once again, another great challenge at Whimsy Stamps! This week, we have a sketch for you to follow! It's a nice and simple one. Here is what I came up with the sketch along with Whimsy skunk. My scraps are piling up again so I am trying to get it down. I made this card with all scraps. This is actually Christmas paper. Can you tell? I didn't think so. hehe

Anyway, I have a busy day today so I better get moving. Will chat with everyone later....

For some reasons, the actual card looks way better than this picture. Next time, I'll really have to try to take my pictures around noon instead of late afternoon.

Bee Crafty DT Card

Hello, Friends! This last week went by so fast for me! It was so crazy for me at work because I have to meet Friday's court deadline. All week, I barely had time to have my lunch, so you can imagine how busy I was. On a happier note, I was surprised by one of my law firms with a bag of goodies! It's a canvas bag of HBO movies, a t-shirt, and a cap. That really made my day when I was so swamped with cases, emails and phone calls. Seriously, I was literally buried with cases! Anyway...

Time for another Bee Crafty challenge! Our theme for the next two weeks is DISTRESSING! We would love to see what you come up with! There are so many ways to distress so surely, you have no excuse not to play along. :)

I thought of tearing first but then decided to go with a knife. Yes, you read right, a KNIFE! I used a plastic knife and went over the edges of the paper to get this distressing effect. I then inked up the edges with Cat's Eye ink. How do you like the layout of my card? Pretty cool, huh? :) I followed the sketch over Sketch and Stash. I used my new image from BEE CRAFTY of course! This is Fluffy Bunny Christmas. Just darling, right? :)

Card Details:

Image: Bee Crafty

Ink: Copic, Cat's Eyes

Paper: K&Company, Recollection

Embellishment: gems

Tools/Others: Snowflake punches, snowflake dies, embossing folder, stickle

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Finally Some Jewelry

Yup, I finally made some jewelry! See? Told you it's something different! No cards, just a couple of bracelets to share.

I have been neglecting my jewelry making for a loooooong time now, so the other night I decided to make a couple of bracelets. What do you think?

I have a couple of unfinished projects I need to work on. Hopefully, I can get to them soon. I have to admit, I have a really bad habit. I have the tendency to put off things until much much later. Really bad...

I am not sure how many of you makes jewelry but I'll kind of briefly give you some details on these. I used glass beads and crystal. I used brass/nickel instead of sterling silver (pins, rings clasp, etc). Silver gets tarnished easily so I try to stay away from it. As a matter of fact, I have several sets I need to take apart because of the tarnishing. That's why I am sticking with brass/nickel.

I have a couple of questions for you guys. Maybe you guys can help me out here. :) How do you change the picture's background using Photoshop? See these pictures with the white background, how do you change it to something more fancy? One more questions, what is your favorite color(s)? I need some ideas on what colors to use on my next project. :)

Thanks everyone, and thank you for stopping by!

Mystery Monday Challenge

I am not sure if anyone noticed, but I am actually early with this week's Mystery Monday Challenge over at Club Anya. I am a last minute person but I got this card done on Monday! Can't you believe that? lol

This week's challenge is to follow Heather's recipe: a sketch, one designer paper, three different colors of cardstock, patterned ribbon and some sparkle. It sounds a mouthful but it's actually not.

I followed the awesome sketch from Little Paper Shop. Did you know, they have a cool challenge every Monday? Check it out!

Once again, I have been playing with liquid applique. :) This time, I added stickle so it's really sparkly. I also used my new gem/pearl brads on this week. See the pink cardstock? It's pomegranate Metallic cardstock. It's really cool!

Wanna see something new and different? Stay tuned for my next post! hehe

Card Details:

Stamps: Snow Anya (The Greeting Farm), Sentiment (Hero Arts)

Paper: K&Company, ANW Crestwood Metallic cardstock, Recollection cardstock

Ink: COpic, Cat's Eyes, Memento

Embellishment: gem/pearl brads, ribbons

Tools/Others: liquid applique, stickle, snowflake punches, embossing folder

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Sparkles!

Happy Happy Wednesday, Everyone! It's time for our La La Weekly Wednesday challenge. Jane is our host this week and she would love to see some sparkles on your creations. You can use glitter, stickles, Spica (glitter pens), embellishments that sparkle on your projects...easy peasy breezy. :) For me, at least because I love anything that's sparkly. :)

Fairies and angels are perfect to add that little bit of sparkles. It makes the image and the whole card stands out so much more! So of course, I have to use Fairy Lala. I used gems of course and some crafty sparkles on her wings. I also added a touch of stickle on the patterned paper. This is another simple card and all thanks to this wonderful sketch over at Crazy for Challenges! I LOVE how this card turned out!

For more inspiration, please hop over to La La Land Crafts and check out the rest of the fabulous DT's creations! Don't forget, the winner gets 25% off the total purchase at La La Land Crafts and the top three will get a cute badge to place proudly on your blog.

Holiday Wishes

This is my FFF card with the cool sketch at ICS. I received Vivi last week and couldn't wait to ink her! She is so fun to color!

Fresh Farm Friday's challenge is NO FRILLS..nothing too girly. I think this card is still pretty girly. Well, I guess as long as I don't' use flowers, ribbons, then I am okay. :)

Card Details:

Stamp: The Greeting Farm's Vivi, company generated sentiment

Paper: K&Company, The Paper Company

Ink: Copic, Mememto, Cat's Eyes, Sakura white pen

Embellishment: Buttons

Tools/Others: Nesties, embossing folder, stickle, liquid applique

Make a scene...

Well, I tried to with this card. Last week's challenge over at Hero Arts was to make a Holiday card with accessories and Saturday Spotlight was to make a scene...so here is my take on both! :)

I just adore all the Hero Arts' Asian girls! They are just too darn adorable! Hmmm...do I have the whole set? You bet!

I am so suck at taking good pictures. Can't you see any sparkles here? The actual card looks so much more sparkly. I need a couple of photography lessons.

I ordered a couple tubes of liquid applique and tried the white one on this card. Pretty cool stuff, I tell you. I also used sparkly fluff on this one. Messy, cool stuff, like I said before. :)

Card Details;

Stamps: Hero Arts

Paper: DCWV, Recollection

Ink: Copic, Cat's Eyes, Sakura glitter pen, Versa Magic

Embellishment: gems, ribbon

Tools/Others: Nesties, snowflake punches, stickle, sparkly fluff, liquid applique, embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by, Everyone! As always, I appreciate your comments!

Another Great Whimsy Stamps Challenge!

Good morning, Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was okay, I didn't get to craft as much because I had it was my niece's birthday and I had a wedding to go to. I have some catching up to do.

This week's theme at Whimsy Stamps is embossing! I emboss quite often but now that the theme is embossing, I didn't do much! So odd! I simply used my embossing folder on this card. Also, I kept this card plain and simple. I wasn't in the mood to make something that "wow".

For my card, I used Pajama Time Emma and followed Mercy's sketch. If you don't know about Mercy, check out her blog! She does beautiful creations and she has a sketch for everyone to follow every Tuesday.

Card Details:

Stamp: Whimsy Stamps' Pajama Time Emma, computer generated sentiment

Paper: The Paper Company, Chatter Box

Ink: Cat's Eyes, Memento, Copic

Embellishment: Gems

Tools/Others: Embossing folder

Thank you so much for stopping and hope everyone have a great day!

You are a Star!

I am not a big fan of summer so I am glad it's getting a little chilly now. The only thing I don't like about Fall and Winter is that I don't like how it gets dark so soon. It's still dark when I go to work and when I get home, it's dark as well. I don't like to drive at night.

This was my Mystery Monday card over at Club Anya. It was a challenge for me because I don't use stars on my cards too often. This card came out pretty cool though. :) What do you think?

La...la...la...la...la...meet Santa Lala!

Hi! Did everyone enjoy the La La Land Crafts Christmas release sneak peek? I sure hope so! :) Today I am showing you my sneak peek stamp, Santa Lala! So, what do you think? Isn't she the cutest??

Before we move on to this week's challenge, I want to thank everyone for hopping along this past week and checking out all the Christmas release sneak peeks! Thank you all for the GREAT support!! And now for the lucky winner of my mini giveaway..................................................................................

Congratulations, Linda!! You are the lucky winner!!! Please email me at kimlayu@gmail.com and I will send this baby off to you right away!

For this week's challenge, it's an easy one! It's a CHRISTMAS/WINTER theme! Yup, all you got to do is make a Christmas/winter card or project! So come on, you know you need to start (if you haven't yet) making your Christmas cards so join in the fun!! We would love to see what you come up with!

For my card, I of course used Santa Lala. I am not sure if you can see or tell, but I used some sparkly fluff on the Santa hat. I also used a pom pom as well. Pretty cool! I used my snowflake punches again as you can see. I added stickle on them as well. The actual card looks very sparkly even though the picture doesn't show any. This is exactly why I don't like to take my pictures at night. But of course, sometimes I just don't have a choose.... This fun sketch is from Stamp with Fun.

This card is also for:
1. Stamp with Sarah Kay: Christmas
2. Caardvarks: Use ribbon in a different way
3. Everybody Art: use punches or Shapes

Sparkle Birthday Wishes

Hi! I have a busy busy day ahead so I'll make this a quickie.

I made this card a few weeks ago for one of my co-worker's birthday. I didn't want to post it until after it's on her hand. She loves blue so of course, I had to use blue. :) Since she always comments on how I only have light color skin girls on my cards, I thought it would be safer to give her something simply stated, no girl images. This idea actually came from Vicki at Stamped Smiles. She has some AWESOME creations so I simply CASE'd one of her cards! If you have a moment, hop over and see for yourself! You won't be disappointed!

Card Details:
Stamps: Hero Arts, computer generated sentiment
Paper: All cardstock by Recollection
Ink: Versa Magic, Memento,VersaMark
Embellishment: gems, ribbon
Tolls/Others: embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by today and hope everyone have a wonderful day!

Holiday Cheer

Hello! It's time for our challenge at Whimsy Stamps! This week, we would love for everyone to use punches! I think we all pretty much use punches in most of our creations so this is an easy challenge. So, let's get started! :)

This week I decided to use Whimsy Bunny with Snowman. Hmmm....they don't look too happy....that was why I used this "HOLIDAY CHEER". hehe Did anyone notice I have been using a lot of my snowflake punch? :) That's like my favorite for Christmas cards!!

Oh, did I tell you guys I went to the Scrapbook show this past weekend? Well, I did and I spent, oh gosh, too much! Do you notice the sparkly snow? I bought this sparkly fluff at the show and tried it on this card! It's kind of cool....just kind of messy to work with. Oh, this cool sketch is from Sketch Saturday. It's so easy to follow. I am so pleased with my card.

Card Details:
Stamp: Whimsy Stamps, Hero Arts
Paper: DCWV, The Paper Company
Ink: Copic, Memento, Sakura white pen
Embellishment: Holiday ribbon, gems
Tools/Others: embossing folder, snowflake punch, sparkly fluff, stickle

Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone have a wonderful day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Okay, not really! But it is getting colder in the morning and at night!

How's everyone's long weekend going so far (for some of us)? I am thinking of taking my babies to a pumpkin patch in Irvine this weekend but they haven't been feeling well. Both of them have been sneezing a lot and have runny noses. If they get a little better, maybe we will take them on Monday. Otherwise, we will have to wait til next weekend.

Time just flies in the blink of an eye. Two weeks passed and it's time for another fun challenge at Bee Crafty! This week we have a fun, easy sketch for everyone to follow. We hope you can play along! Winner, of course get to choose a free Bee Crafty download.
