Window Card

How's everyone's weekend so far? I made one last Father's Day card. Masculine cards are just not my cup of tea so I am going to just stick with feminine ones. Maybe occasionally I win make one or two but that's all for now.

This card is for One Stop Craft, Hero Arts and Chrisma Cardz

Another Father's Day Card

I was on my way home earlier and thought of this card. I had the idea so I just have to make it before I go to bed. This is another card for Hero Arts' challenge this week. And since the challenges with male cards are still on, I'll just enter them again...just for fun! :) They are Crystal' fantastic blog candy challenge and Creative Inspirations. Does the sentiment consider the main focus? Hmmm... I guess. Okay, I'll enter this for OCC as well then. :)

Seven in one!

Woohoo!! I managed to do seven challenges with one card!! I think this is a first! This adorable baby card is for the following challenges:

1. Sketch and Stash Challenge: the sketch
2. A Spoon Full of Sugar: use lace
3. Creative Card Crew: Pretty Flowers
4. Cute Card Thursday: Bit o' Bling
5. Paperplay Challenges: Button Galore!
6. Secret Crafter: A New Beginning
7. Forever Friends: Buttons and Bows

I used my brand new Baby Carriage stamp from Hampton Arts and new ribbon from Dashes, Dots and Checks. My Basic Grey pattern paper is scrap from previous projects. The buttons are recycled from my shirts....those extra buttons attached to shirts or pants. Other supplies included carriage charm, gems, lace, and cardstock. I used border punch and flower punch.

Manly Birthday Card

Hello there! Good evening!!

I want to share with everyone my newest creation....this Birthday card! I know, to some, nothing special about it. But to me, it is! I finally got myself a Cuttlebug and embossed my very first card!! I was amazed at how easy it is to used the Cuttlebug. I am loving it and am having so much fun with it! I haven't tried the dies yet so will see about that.

This card was inspired by In Style Stamps' Method Monday project. I like the "quilted" paper so I tried it and love it! This card is for the "manly" challenge at Hero Arts this week. This is a bit of a challenge to me because I don't usually make masculine cards. I think it came out okay, don't you think?

Simon Says Stamps' challenge for this week is "Animals". So teddy will be join them as well. Okay, maybe he can join Creative Inspiration (A Card for a Male) and with Roses on Paper again (one for the boys). I used all Hero Arts stamps on this card.

Birthday Milly

Since I have some nice pink paper left from my previous monotone card, I decided to make another one. I have way too many scraps so I just wanted to get rid of whatever I can.

For this card, I used Birthday Milly from Polly Craft for their monochrome challenge. This is Emily's sketch over at Stamp Something. And just for fun, I'll enter again for Cute Daisy May. :) Oh, for Papertake Weekly as well because their theme is Scrap It!

Monotone Birthday Card

Good morning and Happy Tuesday everyone! It's kind of gloomy this morning, very depressing. That's why I didn't go to work this morning, just want to stay in. Well, actually I needed to help hubby with a few things today.

I am getting so addicted to cardmaking! After going to my mom's last night with my hubby and kids, I just had to get one more card done....and it's for a few challenges as well.

This is a monotone card, this week's challenge over at Cute Daisy May. I used PINK, my favorite happy color. :) I used Standing Ava from In Style Stamps. She is such a cutie! ISS's theme for this week is "Happy Birthday" and they are having a Guest Designer call based on this theme. So I thought why not give it a try. The Guest Designer is for June-July. If you haven't check out ISS yet, you have got it! They have the cutest images! They not only have digital images but also regular rubber stamps, plus a wide range of other products.

This wonderful sketch is from Sketch Saturday. I like it a lot. Cutie Ava is playing along with this week's challenge over at Creative Card Crew as well because she has plenty of pretty flowers surrounding her.

I tried something new this time with this card. I used GLITTER GLUE! Of course, it might not new to most of you but it is for me. :) I used it on Ava's wings and dress. I didn't think it would work but I like how Ava turned out! She looks just so darling with all those glitters! The only thing is, it takes time to dry.

Supplies: ISS Standing Ava digital image, prima flowers, gem brads, Hallmark heart charm, ribbon, Fuchsia flower and dots pattern paper by Colorbok, cardstock

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Anyone ready for summer? I am not looking forward to summer because I don't like the heat. So far, the weather has been okay, not too hot yet. That's why I like spring the most! :)

Today's card is very summery. I thought about summer when I saw this week's challenge over at Paperplay. Their theme is HOT, HOT, hot (orange, yellow and red). I didn't think I could pull it off with this color combo, all warm colors. But I think it turned out okay anyway. What do you think?

Originally, I was trying to make a shaped card with this image but couldn't thing of a good one to go with it. So I hopped around and used the sketch at Simon Says Stamps. Since Digital Tuesday is to use tags, I turned it into a tag shaped card. The only thing is, I am not sure if this is a digital stamp since I won it from ICS. But the sentiment is! :) Since this is a shaped card, it qualifies for Creative Card Crew and Caardvarks as well. :) Plus, Whimsy Stamps's theme is summer fun so this also counts. Woohoo, how many challenges did I combine? Six!!!

That's it for today. I am heading over to my mom's for BBQ. Our family is getting together for the holiday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day off.

Go Green!!

Since I didn't plan to go anywhere today, I decided to do one more project for the Hero Arts challenge. And since I wanted to make a card, I hopped around and to see what other challenges I can combine with. I love to combine them! Like I said, TIME MANAGEMENT. :) Anyway, this card is for a few challenges:
Hero Arts: re-purposed/recycled materials
Stamps and Smiles: the sketch
Charisma Cardz: Flower, lace and pearl
Dutch Dare Card Challenge: Bling-bling/glitter
High Hopes Stamps: pink and brown

Here is what I did with this card. I sewed the fabric scrap onto the brown card. For the the flower, I used the tissue paper Jennifer Meyer sent me. :) She used it to wrap the clear stamp I won doing the blog hop. Thanks again, Jennifer!!! I kept it because it was so pretty! I cut the tissue paper into long two inches wide strips and folded it a few times. I then cut hearts from it. For each heart, I used brown chalk ink for the edge, along with pink glitter pen. I want it to sparkle. :) Then I layer each heart so that it turns into a flower. I punched a pink flower for the center and then added the pink button. Once I was done with that, I added a few pearls to the flower pedals. The rest is pretty much self-explanatory.

Supplies: fabric scrap, gems, pearls, buttons, thread, tissue paper, cardstock, ribbon, tag, lace, Hero Arts sentiment, Autumn Leaves swirl clear stamp
Tools: sewing machine, Martha Stewart lace border punch, flower punch

ENVELOPES GIVEAWAY!!!

CLOSED!!!!

The winner is
Ive_Boricua_Girl! Please email me your info so I can get these to you.

Does anyone want some envelopes? One of my friends gave me a bunch of card envelopes and I want to share them with you. I am giving away about 80 of them in different colors. These are envelopes without cards so her company was getting rid of them. They are still brand new. If you are interested, link me to your blog telling everyone about this giveaway, leave me a comment by 5/24/09 and I will choose a winner using RANDON.ORG. You do not need to be a follower but if you want to, that would be wonderful! :)

If you are not interested, stop by next month because I will be having a blog candy! I won a few things lately and want to share them. Well, I won't be giving the stuff I won away. I am shopping right now for my candy.

Good luck and thank you!

Baby Kaylie

This week's challenge over at Hero Arts is re-purposed/recycled material. Instead of the use cards, I thought I would do a scrapbook layout for a change.

This is my daughter, Kaylie when she was about 2 1/2 months old. This is one of those "just because" photos. I used the scraps of fabrics from my doll clothes making a couple of years back. I have a lot of them! I didn't want to get rid of them because I was thinking I might use it one of these days. And yup, they are useful now! Plus, I tend to keep everything. You can imagine my garage. :) I simply cut a few strips of the different pattern fabric and sewed them onto pieces of cardstock and then adhered them. The word "BABY" is also a recycled item. It is from a baby shower gift bag. I have tons of those gift bags from my baby shower! They look so pretty that I didn't want to get rid of as well. The Awww stamp is by Hero Arts.

Happy Father's Day

Woohoo!!! Weekend!!!

I don't have anything that's suitable for a Father's Day card so yeserday, I drew this chef girly and the grill. I gave them a home, in my hard drive along with my other hand-drawn images. :) Why the girl and the grill? :) Well, here's what was on my mind. Since a majority of the dads usually take control of the grill when there's a BBQ, I thought mom/wife can switch placde for a change. I know some of us do that anyway but I thought it would be cool to actually see it in a card. :) And the star represents all the dads to the kids. Our dads are the star/hero to our children.

The picture didn't come out too well but here was what I did with it. I made an abstract star with my Stika cutting machine and then stenciled it onto the black cardstock with glitter pen. I then use the same star and added a button on it. The card itself is plain and simple but then card means a whole lot.

This card is for Crystal's blog candy, to make a Father's Day card (really cool idea!), Roses on Paper Challenge and DU2DS, One for the Boys.

First DT Card for Crafty Muse

Happy Friday!! Anyone got plans this long weekend? I know I don't. Well, actually I might be going to super Joann's with my new friend I met last week, if things go as planned. Also, I really need to organize my craft space, maybe move it to another area so my son can have the room. Will see...

On to this card... This is my first DT card for Crafty Muse. I am so excited!! If you haven't check out their blog, what are you waiting for?? You will fall in love with all of their downloads. As a matter of fact, they are releasing a couple of new sets today...MARRIAGE! Plus, Crafty Muse has a new fun challenge every other Friday so why not join in the fun and maybe win some prizes sometimes!!

Let's Go Shopping!

Good Evening, Ladies!

I guess you can tell I love to shop, huh? :) Yes, I do!

This card is for three challenges:
Our Creative Corners - Regal rose, certainly celery and bashful blue along with a natural color
Modern Sugar Blvd - anything with MSB image
Creative Inspiration - the sketch

Quick easy card! The only thing is, the color came out too dark on the picture. I should've adjusted the camera before taking the picture. Oh well....still good. :)

Happy Birthday A Spoon Full of Sugar!

Happy Birthday to A Spoon Full of Sugar! It's their first anniversary and this week's challenge is to create a card for a CELEBRATION. How easy is that??!! I followed the sketch at CPS. I've colored this pretty girl a while back. I finally get to use her! So this was a quick card. Yay!

Love To Shop

I get to use my favorite color again! :) This time with lemon. I must say, NICE color combo! This darling little card is for three challenges: Modern Sugar Blvd, anything with MSB images, Inspirational Card Sketches, the sketch, of course and DU2DS with this color combo. The picture didn't come out too good but f you click on it for a larger view, you will see that her dress and her bag ares parkly.
Supplies: Flower pin, Dashes, Dots and Checks ribbon, MSB image, K&Company pattern paper, cardstock, gems, glitter pens

She's Expecting!

This card is very springy too! Just for fun, I am entering it for Cute Daisy May as well. :)

I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge with my new image from Modern Sugar Blvd. The challenge at MSB is to create anything with their images, so this one fits their challenge as well. So multiple challenges again! :)

Supplies: New image (love it!) from MSB, new ribbon, cardstock from stash, pattern paper, gems, small flower punch glitter pens, Le Plume markers

Thanks a Bunch!

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to all the talented crafters out there!

Over at Stamp Something is to create a clean, simple Thank You Somethings in honor of Lauren's work. I am used to adding embellishments to my creations so this is a bit of a challenge to me.
Supplies: Stampabilities "Thanks a Bunch" rubber stamp, My Mind's Eye pattern paper, ribbon, glitter pens

Peek-A-Boo Treat Holder

I bet by looking at the first picture, you wouldn't know it's not a card but a treat holder. :) I followed the instruction on Project Tuesday and combined sketch #15 at Stamps and Smiles Sketch to make this treat holder. I enlarged the holder a little so that I can add a few embellishments on it. It came out beautifully!

I used another one of the image I drawn. Isn't it perfect for this project?

Supplies: Image drawn by me, sticky gems, My Mind's Eye pattern paper, cardstock, sentiment I made from computer

Tools: small and medium flower punches, scallop paper edger, Sakura glitter pens and Le Plume markers

Many Thanks

I made this card using the cupcake clear stamps I won from Marilyn. I have been meaning to make a Thank you card since I received my package but just having gotten around to it until now. Sorry Marilyn!! This card is on the way!

All Sort's first challenge is to create some sweets and this is just perfect for it! Also, since I use springy colors with flowers, this fits the challenge at Cute Daisy May as well. :)

Purple Wedding

I LOOOOOOVE lavender, purple! ICS has a fantastic sketch and I just had to follow it. Oh, BTW, I didn't make the DT. :( Nevertheless, I had a great time making the entry card! I bought this adorable wedding image from Polly Craft last week and it seems it's perfect for this sketch. They go very well together. once again, this card is good for a couple of other challenges: Cafe Mojo, Bling those things and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, Glitter.

Supplies: Polly Craft wedding couple image, gems, gem brads, ribbon, Le Plume markers, Sakura glitter pens. I bought the pattern papers from Michael's a long time ago so I don't even remember who they are from.

Pink and Brown

The weather has been pretty unusual this year in Calif. We just had another earthquake earlier, a little before 9:00pm. It was about 5.0. We didn't have any damages...good thing...

I made another card for the Hero Arts challenge, dots. I like this one much better. I think it's because I took my time making this one. This card is also good for the pink and brown challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge.

Supplies: Hero Arts Japanese Doll stamp, Hero Arts Butterfly and Fern stamp, My Mind's Eye pattern paper, glue stick to stamp the spots on the brown cardstock, ribbon from stash, gems
Tools: scallop paper edger, scallop border punch

Folder Card

How is everyone's weekend so far? Mine is okay.

I was at Joann's yesterday and met Hanh. She's a young sweet girl. We were just looking at some scrapbooking tools and then just started talking and exchanging info on the tools. It turned out we are both still beginners at cardmaking! I started about a month before she did. I had so much fun talking to her. I guess I always get excited when I meet someone who shares similar interests. We've planned to get together and go to one of the nearby super Joann's! I can't wait!

This card is a really a challenge for me. I've never made a folder card, a card besides the traditional fold or shaped card. But once I got started, ideas just flows and I love how it turned out! This card is for Roses on Paper, a folder card, Digital Tuesday Challenge, Non Traditional folding card/non traditional shaped cards, Truly Scrumptious Challenge, the sketch and High Hopes Stamps, Can Ya Doodle? I drew a fence for Magnolia to sit on.

Dots, dots and more dots!

Hero Arts challenge for this week is dots. At first, I couldn't think of anything dottie with the limited HA stamps I have. I only have one set. lol So today, for no particular reason, I got the inspiration! I scanned the four Japanese dolls and made them smaller so that I could punch them out. I added buttons and gems to make it more dottie. It didn't come out like what I had in my mind but I guess it will do. I'll see if I can come up with another one before Sunday night.

Happy Birthday Brandon!

Happy Friday, Everyone! Is everyone ready for the weekend?? I know I am! :)

I made a quick birthday card last night for my nephew (hubby's side). I followed the sketch from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards. It's a cool little sketch, simple and easy. I got my card done in minutes!! Since High Hopes Stamps' and Simon Says Stamps' challenges for this week are"one for the boys", this card works for three challenges.

Supplies: Bee Crafty bear image, gems, cardstock, sentiment created from computer

Tools: Flower punch...loving it!!! You will see a lot more of these flowers. :)

Bee Happy

Hi there!

DU2DS has a wonderful challenge this week. The theme is to use gingham and stitches, sponsored by Post Pals. Post Pals feature children with life threatening or long term illnesses. Their goal is to put a smile on these children's face and give them the confidence to stay strong. To help brighten a child's life, all we need to do is send a card. I chose Samara M. I hope when she receives this card, it will bring a big smile on her face.

Because this is such a special challenge and event, I decided to use one of MY OWN drawings, a flower, can't go wrong with that, right? Everyone likes flowers, especially girls. :) This is considered a digi image because I already went through the process of converting it. :) I followed the fabulous sketch from Sketch Saturday. This also qualifies for A Spoon Full of Sugar, Buttons. The sentiment is by The Paper Company. I was actually looking for something like "BEEEEEEE Happy" but couldn't find any. So "Bee Happy" it was then. It didn't darn on me until after I finished the card that I could've printed it from my computer! Oh well.... I don't have a sewing machine so I drew the "stitches". Patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye, buttons by La Mode, ribbon and all other papers from stash.

Good News!!!

Guess what? Guess what??!!! Sammi at Crafty Muse asked me to join her Design Team!!! Wooohoo!!!! I am so excited!!! Crafty Muse has fabulous challenges every other Friday. You have to check it out!!

Meet Little Kimbee!

I followed the sketch from Dawn's DT call at Inspirational Card Sketches. Dawn's DT call ends May 14, 2009. I thought I'd give it a try. I am making cards every week anyway so why not see if my creations can be an inspiration to others. Whether or not Dawn likes my creations, I enjoy making this card.

This is also my entry for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: brads or eyelets.

Notice something familiar? :) The image! The same one I have under my profile. As I mentioned in one of tonight's earlier post, I drew it. If you have been following my blog, you probably remember I mentioned a while back that I used to draw. I stopped because I have so many hobbies and couldn't do all of them so I gave up on that. But recently, I started doing a few sketches again. It takes sometime to get back on my feet again. :) I am very fond of little boys and girls in overalls. So for starter, I drew a little girl with overall. Hmmm..come to think of it, I think my hubby was right. She does look a little like me. :) Long hair, glasses, overalls,...hmmm... So why not call her Little Kimbee! :)

Supplies: gem brads, prima flowers, all paper from stash

EatCake!

This cupcake card is for Truly Scrumptious' "Good Enough To Eat". I have been meaning to make this card since them posted this challenge a week or so ago but I couldn't find my cupcakes. I finally found them when I organized my stamps this weekend. Yay!!

I tried something new on this card, which I never thought of before. I used tissue paper! The cupcake patter paper is actually a piece of tissue paper! It's super thin so I had to be extra careful when gluing it. The card came out pretty good, don't you think? :) Sentiment made my me using photoshop with Jessica Sprague's circle template.

Supplies: Cupcake by Inkadinkado, ribbon, dottie paper by Nana's Kid stack, cardstock

Mom!

One last Mother's Day card. This card is for three challenges:
In Style Stamps: A mother's Day card
Crafty Muse: May Day: Love, Flowers, Romance
Color Create: green and blue

I just discovered In Style Stamps. They are having their first Wednesday challenge. Check out their blog! They have some really cute stuff.

For this card, I used my Japanese dolls by Hero Arts. I of course colored them with my Le Plume markers. I love those markers more and more. I used a butterfly squeeze punch and added some gems to it, also some gems to make a trail. Ribbon is from stash and pattern paper is from my Glitter Stack. I printed the sentiment from my computer using the Stika Design Cutter.

Pink Birthday Something

Hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day weekend! I spent my at home all weekend because both of my babies are sick. My son got it from my twin's daughter when we wen t out to have dinner with the family for Mother's Day last Thursday. Her daughter was feverish. That same night, my son ended up having high fever as well...102! Then my daughter caught it from my son. She didn't have a fever but she was more of caught a flu. She got stuffy nose and stuff. Man... good thing is, my son is all better. But my 4 1/2-month-old daughter is still sniffing. :(

Anyway, since I was home all weekend, I made a few cards. This card is for two challenges. First, I followed the sketch from
Charisma Cards. I love this sketch! The second challenge is for Stamp Something. Their theme for this week is Pink Birthday Something in honor of Melissa's favorite color, pink. I love pink too!!

Supplies: WOJ Willow stamp, Sentiment by The Paper Company, flower border by Hero Arts, gems, pattern paper by DCWV

Tools: Martha Stewart Lace border punch

Do you notice anthing different on my blog?? I added a picture under my profile!! I drawn that a couple of weeks ago. My hubby said she looks sort of like me. :)

Cherry Blossom

Hello, Everyone!

This card is for two challenges. Yay! I really didn't know what kind of card I wanted it to be since there is not much space for large sentiments. The actual card is fairly small and so I had to find a tiny one to fit in. Mother's Day card it is then...the sentiment is small enough to fit in that little upper left hand corner, which worked out perfect since OCC's challenge is to create something special for a mom. I hope this card still qualifies. It's Saturday central time but still Friday Pacific time. So I guess still okay???

I followed the sketch from Cute Daisy May. Basic...I like it. Sometimes the simpler the better, don't you think?

Stamp and Smiles Day 4 Sketch

Not very happy with this one. It didn't come out as expected. I do, however, like the color combo.

Fairy

Battery was low on my camera so the picture came out dark....too dark. When I get a chance, I'll take another picture. But it will do for now. :) This card is for the first challenge at Sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp and Secret Crafter's Flowers theme. This is my first time playing along with them. Nice sketch, really enjoyed it.
Supplies: Inkadinkado stamp, prima flowers, ribbons cardstock, brads, pattern paper

Super Dupper Happy!!!!

Look what was waiting for me when I got home today??? The blog candy I won from Marilyn!!! Thank you so much Marilyn! She was so thoughtful to even include one of her handmade card! Isn't it gorgeous???

Birthday Wishes

This is the Stamp and Smiles' Wednesday sketch. This one actually came out not too bad.

Okay, I am getting tired. I need some zzzzz's. I need to get up early in the morning for work.
Supplies: Curly Girl Me image, gem brads, Flower gem, ribbons
Tools: Large Seal of Approval squeeze punch
Colors: Le Plume Markers

Thank you so much for stopping by!
