Friday Sketchers #49

Even with the busy schedule this week, I managed to finish another card before the weekend. Yay! This card is for Friday Sketchers. I used the image from Inky Impressions again. I really like it. You should check out the blog. Nicole, the owner of Inky Impressions has some really nice images. Her store will be opening soon.

Orange Dandelions

How is everyone doing this Wednesday evening? Anyone looking forward to the weekend? I know I am! This week has been hectic for me, both at work and home. So I need to have some extra zzzzzzz's this weekend to "recharge" myself.

I recently bought a set of Le Plume Markers and have been having a lot of fun using them and loving them! It's so much better than colored pencils. I still like colored pencils but for smaller images or areas of an image, I prefer to use these markers.

I am using cute Suzie Squirrel again. I just think she's so adorable with those dandelions. And since Color Create's theme this week is to use orange, brown and green, I thought she would be perfect. I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge. This sketch is, nice, cool, easy to work with.
Supplies: Colorbok pattern paper, prima leaves and flower, gem brad, gems, butterfly squeeze punch, cardstock, imagr from Digital Oasis, chalk ink, Le Plume Markers , paper edger glitter jelly pen

Another thing that has been keeping me busy is sketching. I have decided to start back with my drawing, doodling. I am working on a couple of sketches right now and hopefully I can use one or two for my cards in the very near future. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Spots and Stripes

I had a little bit time earlier today so I went to Joann's to stock up some craft supplies. I have a circle template now! Yay!! I even got a circle cutter!

This card qualifies three challenges, sketch 12 from Stamp and Smiles , Papertake Weekly, Spots and Stripes and Digital Tuesday Challenge, April Showers Brings May Flowers. Making one card that qualifies for several different challenges means time management, means I did my homework, means I have been blog hopping. :) It's nice to make one card for one challenge sometimes but if I can combine others, why not, right? :)
Supplies: Susie Watering Flower from Digital Stamp Oasis; DCWV dots and stripes paper; ribbon, button, yarn, cardstock from stash; Inkadinkado sentiment; colored pencils

One Card, Five Challenges!

I've outdone myself with today's card. I didn't realize this card works for five different challenges! Plus, of all the cards I made so far, I like this one the most. I used one of my new digi image, Susie Squirrel, which I won from DTC. Isn't she cute with those dandelions?

This card took me a while to finish because I am low on my craft supplies. Plus, I don't have any circle templates or nestabilities. So here's what I did. I was looking around the house for anything round so I could make a circle, a couple of sizes...from containers, jars to bowls and plates (I do this every time I need to make a circle). Then I used paper edgers. That took a long time because I was trying to be extra careful not to mess it up. Then I was in need of floral embellishments and realized that I only have a few left! Sucks! Luckily, I stopped by Joann's yesterday and got these Colorbok eco-friendly flowers. It's only four in a pack but they work out just fine...got some yellow to give with it. Yay!

I guess I need to go shopping, huh?

Here are the challenges:
Sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar
Cute Daisy May's Gem
Crafty Muse's Lots of Spots
Stamp Something's Something Shower or Flowers
Our Creative Corner's Your Own Favorite Color Combo

Here is the inside of it.

Family Day

I have been so involved with my crafts lately that I haven't really been spending time with my little ones. So today, we all went to the park and had a blast. My son and my niece and nephew running and chasing each other for hours and still were not tired. Where do they get so much energy? Watching them gave me lots of ideas....on drawing. Yes, I used to love to draw. But I had stopped a long while ago because I have so many hobbies, I had to give up one. :) I think I am into too many things.

Happy Reading Bookmark #3

This is the third book mark I made for Christine. I used Dustin Pike's image and color it with Marvy Uchida markers and colored pencils. I love how this one turned out. Simple, nice.

My Own Bookmark #2

Since a bookmark can't have too much embellishments (3D embellishments will mess up the pages), I just used paper edgers and foiled butterfly and stickers.

Bookmark Blog Candy

Christine at Change of Heart is a blog candy challenge. The challenge is to make three bookmarks and each bookmark qualifies for an entry to the drawing. I like this idea a lot. Just like Christine, I am a person who is grateful for a lot of things as well. I receive some, I give some. I believe in sharing. That's why I donate to my favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital several times a year.

I don't remember ever making any bookmarks. So I didn't really know where to start. So I thought the easiest is to personalize one. Which I did. I sanded the edge of the bookmark to give it a vintage look. I hope she likes it.

In Love

Did I ever mention I love hearts, all shapes, size, anything with hearts? :) Here are my lovebirds again from Polly Craft. They are just too cute! I followed sketch #16 from Chrisma Cardz. I was having some trouble with this one. The sketch is easy to follow, but I couldn't understand why I have such a hard time putting it together. I love outcome of it though. I really enjoyed using chalk for the edges.

I am also entering this one for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday, challenge #57, Getting Edgy, DU2DS, Things with Wings and Paperplay Challenge, Week 14, Complimentary Colors.

Lady Bugs

Mother's Day is just around the corner. So I thought I better get started with a couple of Mother's Day cards. Card Positioning Systems has a cool, fun sketch, really easy to follow. I like the simplicity of it. For my jewelry making, I have been into bugs, flies and insect charms. So for this card, I used lady bugs. Love them! They are so cute.

This is the inside of it.

Friday Sketchers #48

Friday Sketchers has a cool sketch and I couldn't resist following it. Here is my take on it. I used more of purple and lavender this time since I haven't made a card with these colors yet. I like how it came out.

Supplies: Prima floral embellishments, prima nursery tales rose embellishment, image from Bee Crafty, zip-zap paper edger,Jolee's dimensional flower stickers, Nana's Kids pattern paper, cardstock.

In honor of Earth Day

One more card for tonight...

This one is for Digital Tuesday Challenge #3, in honor of Earth Day: green, brown and a choice of one color. It is also for Dawny's Sketch #13 at Papertake Weekly Challenge. I never thought of putting these colors together but I am quite pleased with this card. It's simple but nice. What do you think? :)

Supplies: Dustin Pike digi image, Hero Arts sentiment, Nana's Kid's playful pattern paper, green ribbon and solid cardstock.

Color Create Challenge

My niece, Stephanie's birthday is coming up so I made this little princess card for her. This is also for Color Create's challenge: black, white and pink with polka dot option.
Supplies: Hampton Art princess stamp, K&Company gems, polka dot ribbon, threading border punch, scallop paper edger and solid color cardstock.

Bee Happy!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday! I simply love Dustin Pike's drawings! He has such cute images. This little bee is also one of his freebies. Isn't he cute?

I am falling in love with digi-stamps. They are so much easier and better to work with. They don't take up space, they are not as expensive, you can resize anytime, and they are good for the earth....no wood, no rubber, etc.... Hmmm....I might start doodling again. :)

Anyway, this little bee is my entry for three challenges: Cute Daisy May, Glitter, Sketch and Stash Challenge #8 and Paperplay Challenge, X4. My new item on the card is of course, the cutest little bee and the gems from Bead Factory Inc. My forgotten item is the black/grayish glitter paper from my glitter stack. All other card stock are scraps.

Thanks for looking!

Cherry Blossom

I just discovered The Digi Shack yesterday. They had their grand opening on 4/15/09 along with their first sketch challenge. The first challenge comes with a freebie so if you want it, hop on over to their blog! I followed the sketch from the Digi Shack with the cherry blossom image and colored it pink. This card is my entry to the challenges for The Digi Shack and DU2DS, pink and green. I love this color combination! It's so spring, my favorite season!
Supplies: Cherry blossom image from The Digi Shack, Delta cherry blossom rubber stamp, pink button, pink sewing thread, prima floral embellishment, Inkadinkado sentiment, lace corner punch, Fiskars scallop paper edger

Little Black Dress

Finally Friday! This week seems forever to go by for me.
I really wanted to enter the challenge for Charisma Cardz when I found out that the theme is Little Black Dress. But I went through all my stamps (rubber and digi), I don'thave too many girls with dresses. So off I went blog hopping and voila!!! I found an uptown girl with shopping bags from Modern Sugar Blvd. Perfect! Since ICS has a sketch, I thought might as well follow it and use one card for both challenges. Also, Cute Card Thursday's theme is floral fantasy, so I used floral pattern paper and punched some flowers as enbellishments. Here is what I came up with:
Supplies: Red, black cardstock, flower punch, brads, Marcella K gems, Mopdern Sugar Blvd image, colored pencils, ribbon and DCWV patterned paper.

Shape Up

I am on a roll this week with card making! This is my 3rd card of the week! :) This card is for Cute Daisy May's SHAPE UP and High Hope Challenge #26, PIERCE IT. This beautiful image is from Inky Impressions Rubber Stamps. This is a new blog and they are going to have a weekly challenge soon as well. Nicole, the owner, has some really adorable stamps.
This is how it looks when you open it.

Simple Pleasures

Hello, Everyone!
I find myself enjoy following a sketch or a challenge more and more. I enjoy and sometimes couldn't wait to see what new sketches each blog has each week! If I could, I would follow every single sketch out there! I am that addicted to them!!

I came up with this card today with a very cute image, called Simple Pleasures from Two Scoop Rice. I followed the fabulous sketch from Truly Scrumptious Challenge #5. I love the layering! As I was making this card, I thought about DU2DS, one of the new blog I found and simply love. Their theme for this week is BLING as I mentioned previously. Because I am still new at a lot of things, bling is one of them, I toyed with my Marcella K gems again. I love how a few rhinestones can bring out the whole project! It's like they give it more life! For sure, you guys will see me using more and more of the BLINGS!

Monkeying Around

Lately, I am into monkeys. I bought a couple of monkey stamps from Michael's and the other night, I found this little fellow. He is one of Dustin Pike's many adorable images. This little fellow is my entry for this week's Mojo Monday's sketch and Crafty Muse's challenge. Crafty Muse's challenge is to create a project that says "Thank you" or Good Luck".

People who have seen this little fellow think he is up to something with his big grin. When I first set eyes on him, I thought the same thing. So as I was making this little card, I thought maybe he wants some bananas. So off I went searching for some for him. Hopefully, he's satisfied and will be good for a while.

This card is for Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge #2, Bling plus digi image and for Pollycraft challenge 12, downloadables. I used the image from Pollycraft, Lovebirds. I hope this is acceptable.

Happy Wednesday! Another day closer to Easter weekend! Woohoo!!!

My co-workers and I have been trying to get together during lunch on Wednesdays to do some scrapbooking for the longest time but never really gotten to it. Things always seem to come up. So scrapbooking Wednesdays here we come!

Easter Card

I am beginning to love challenges! I really had fun with the sketch from Sketch and Stash Challenge. You will be seeing a lot more of them! Today's card is for Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge #9 and Stamp Something, Happy Easter Somethings challenge. This is a really cool sketch. Since Stamp Something's challenge is to create a card with Happy Something, this card can be used for both challenges!

The "Happy Easter" tag is removable if you untie the bow, so you can use this card other than an Easter card.

Supplies:

Image from Bee Crafty

Flower border punch

Nana's Kids paper

K&Company patterned paper

Black/White checker ribbon

Solid color cardstock

I will be hosting an Egg Hunt at my place this Sunday so I am a little busy with the little details this week. I am having some games for the hunt so I need to work get the prizes ready and have all the goodies bags ready by this Saturday. Plus, I'll be cooking as well. Yep, I'll be really busy.

Special order Jewelry Sets

One of my co-worker/friend wanted me to make her two sets of jewelry since last December. I haven't gotten around them until this past weekend. Finally! She wanted a black and white set. The black one was easy to make since there are a lot of black beads out there. The white one was hard, not that it was hard to make but it was difficult to find the beads! I had to check several different stores for them! I didn't create anything fancy because she is a conservative type so just something simple. Hope she likes them!

Here are pictures of them. I took them with my iphone so the colors didn't come out too good.

First challenges

I was blog hopping and discovered some really cool blogs. There are so many talented people out there!

Sketch and Stash Challenge has a great sketch (#7) and so I thought I give it a try. This is the first time I use a sketch and I really like how the card came out. The first card I used my new clear fairy stamp by Inkadicnkado. Since I like this sketch so much, I used it for Bee Crafty's competition #1, which I found yesterday. Bee Crafty has digi stamps download for sales but this adorable little girl is a freebie. I have so much fun coloring her! So the second card it actually for challenges at both blogs. Why not kill two birds with one stone, right?

I will definitely use this sketch and this little girl for my other projects!

Cards with new techniques

I challenged myself this past weekend with these cards. I used techniques I've never used on cards before, floral embellishments, stamping, ribbons... I love the ribbon because it gives the card a feminine touch. But the one big thing I realized was that stamping is going to be my new addiction! There are so many things you can do with them. The possibilities are endless!!!!
