Happy Adoption Day!!

My friend's daughter has been recognized in a court of law, under the seal of the State of California as a member of the family!

Family and friends packed the courtroom and witnessed the early morning hearing. The event made the adoption legal and at the same time, emotional. This is truly a wonderful experience, to see a friend welcomed an adorable little girl into her family and treat her as her own.

Many congratulations to my friend and her family! This is just the beginning of many happy memories together.

Flowers and Bugs Jewelry Set

I stayed home today and worked on a set of jewelry. I went to Michael's yesterday and got some Jolee's charms, toggle and Meadow Grove ceramic flowers. I went to Michael's for a circle cutter but I got inspired browsing through the beads section. So today, I made this set, very summery.

Celebrating Life Together

My friend finally got a finalization date on the adoption of her daughter!! The date is finally here, Wednesday, March 25, 2009. It has been over a year since Tailynn was placed with her. Finally, they will be mother and daughter forever!!

Since it was a short notice (she just got the call from her attorney last Thursday evening), we were working hard to get some stuff done for the hearing. We made invitations Friday morning, rush ordered personalized pens, and she went downtown to get more stuff for mementos. While she put all the favors together at home, I did a few layouts for guests to sign and write their good wishes for the "new family".

New Discovery

I was feeding Kaylie earlier and she threw up on my leather couch. Since a tub of Huggies wipes was at my hand's reach, I pulled a sheet out and wiped off the mess. Surprisingly, it even wiped off those stubborn dark spots/finger prints! Baby wipes clean better than leather cleaner! 3X less the price too!

Latest Layout

This is my latest layout. Jayden is 14 months already and I still haven't finish his baby book. I am so behind. Since I have been off, I haven't done any other crafts but scrapbooking, Jayden's and Kaylie's. I figure if I don't start Kaylie's book, it will be a while before I get to it. So for Kaylie's, I have about 6 layouts so far. And for Jayden's I only did up to the 3rd month so far.

The thing is, when I have time for anything, I tend to procrastinate...really bad habit. It has been almost three months since I started my maternity leave and I haven't done much and need to go back to work already.

I am going back to work next Monday. I was ready to go back but as the day gets closer, I feel like I am not.

"Phat Gao"

Hubby loves to eat phat gao, a Chinese cupcake, or a good fortune cupcake, I am not sure what you call it. Anyway, I made him some earlier today. I have been in the mood to make these cupcakes the last couple of weeks. This is like the second time I made them this week already. Usually, Chinese make or buy phat gao during Chinese New Year or when there is a holiday. "Phat" means good fortune.

My First Post

So I have finally decided to start a blog after years of procrastination. This blog will mainly be about my creations, the stuff I make. I am into all kinds of crafts, scrapbooking, card making, crocheting, jewelry making, card making etc. I've never taken any classes or went to any conventions so I am just making stuff as they come to mind.

I hope this blog gives my friends and family the chance to see my creations and maybe they can get some inspiration or ideas from it. At the same time, I welcome any feedbacks as well so I can improve myself.

Blogging is time consuming. Hopefully, I can maintain this blog on a regular basis or at least try.
